The West Contra Costa Crime Stoppers is a group of concerned citizens of West Contra Costa County who seek to assist police departments in the solving of crimes of a serious nature.  Their goal is to provide a crime free environment for families and businesses.

The group is made up of volunteers from all over West Contra Costa County.  They raise fund through various events and distribute those funds to persons who provide information that will assist in the solving of crimes in our communities.

They will pay up to $1,000.00 for such tips.

The tips are provided anonymously to their tip line and no names or further information is required.  The caller is to give a code name of their choice, to be used later to collect the award, and the information is sent to the police department of jurisdiction.  Crimestoppers does not investigate crimes themselves and only forwards the information to the proper authorities.

When the crime is solved and the story is in the local newspaper the tipster is to call and seek the reward. The award amount varies, and will be paid in cash to the tipster with only their code name as identification.
