Mission

The mission of the Police Chief’s Advisory Board is to build trusting relationships between the Hercules Police Department and the community. This is accomplished through promoting community partnerships that focus on feedback and input.

Purpose

The Board’s purpose is to act as a resource for the Chief in the formation of strategies, development of policing concepts, and increasing public awareness regarding policy issues. It is designed for open discussion regarding trends in law enforcements, uses of force, police pursuits and other significant police issues.

Although the Police Chief’s Advisory Board is expected to be proactive, it will have no decision making authority at any level, and will have no power to investigate, review or otherwise participate in matters involving specific police personnel or specific police- related incidents, but will act solely in an advisory capacity.

The Board will be driven by the creativity and vision of its members and is meant to be an expression of the Hercules community’s viewpoints. Service on the Board is strictly on a voluntary basis.
