Making Hercules Streets Safer for All
To address ongoing citizen concerns about traffic circulation and pedestrian and bicyclist safety, the City formed the Traffic Subcommittee, which consists of two Council members plus representatives from the Police, Planning, and Engineering & Public Works Departments. The Traffic Subcommitte meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 4:00 p.m. in the City Hall conference room; members of the public are welcome to attend, but please check a day or two before the meeting with the City Clerk to confirm that the meeting will be held as regularly scheduled.
In September 2006, the City sponsored a Traffic Calming Workshop, facilitated by representatives from the Local Government Commission and Walkable Communities. To review the results and recommendations of the workshop, download the Traffic Calming Workshop Report.
