Project Status Update – March 25, 2024 

The City has hired Gates & Associates to develop a conceptual plan for the park.  In May 2024, an outreach effort will be conducted to allow the adjacent neighborhood to weigh in on what improvements they would like to see at Beechnut Park.

The Beechnut Park Improvement Project plans to utilize Measure WW & Prop 68 grant funding.  Improvements are yet to be determined, but could include enhanced play structures, a half play court with basketball hoop, and a tricycle loop. There is an easement for the overhead electric transmission lines, which needs to be modified by PG&E and approved by the CPUC prior to improvements being constructed.  This process is expected to occur over FY 24-25 along with the preliminary design and final design.  Construction  is expected to take place in FY 25-26.
