Hercules, CA
Home MenuMayor Dan Romero
Elected in 2011 during a special election, I became a Councilmember to change the culture of deceptive politics in Hercules. I have served with six different Councils and worked together with four different City Managers and have been honored to be Mayor for the fourth time.
Hercules has risen from near financial collapse to a promising future of growth and fiscal responsibility. Hercules will have Solar panels at our City Hall and Community Center to provide solar power for our facilities, new commercial facilities along San Pablo Ave with Safeway Center and future Sycamore Crossings site, new hotel at Sycamore Crossings, Self-Storage facility along Willow Ave, our new Hilltown community and a Capital Corridor Train Station along the Waterfront surrounded by the Ledcor Waterfront housing project.
I currently serve on two regional committees, West Contra Costa Integrated Waste Management Authority (WCCIWMA) and Pinole/Hercules Wastewater Management which represents our solid waste and recycling and wastewater facilities.
I believe in Open Government and believe that Hercules City business should always be discussed in open sessions and not behind closed doors. That our residents should always be part of the process and I always try to answer all Hercules residents’ issues and questions.
