Chris Kelley has served on the Hercules City Council since 2014. Her main focus is promoting the City’s Hercules Hub project (train, ferry & bus at the Hercules waterfront). She is also concerned with regional transportation issues, public safety, economic development, and parks & facilities. Chris serves on the Authority Board of Contra Costa Transportation Authority (CCTA). She is an alternate on the West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (WCCTAC) and the WestCAT bus transit board. Chris is a member of the Executive Committee of the East Bay Economic Development Alliance (EastBay EDA), as a representative of the Contra Costa Mayor’s Conference. She is a past president of the League of California Cities East Bay Division, and past Chair of CCTA, WCCTAC, and WestCAT. Chris is also a former vice-chair of the West Contra Cost County Unified School District’s Citizen’s Bond Oversight Committee.
Prior to joining the Council, Chris was a member of the City of Hercules Finance Committee and an active participant in the ITC/Bayfront Task Force. Before joining the Council, she regularly attended council meetings and volunteered at Hercules City Hall, assisting the finance staff. In 2014, she took part in the Hercules Police Department’s Citizens Academy.
Chris is Treasurer of the Hercules Historical Society and also serves on the Board of Invictus Academy of Richmond.
Professionally, Chris has 25+ years of experience in human resources and administrative management for small businesses in the fields of finance, marketing, computer software, and interior design. She graduated from U.C. Berkeley with a B.A. in Political Science.
