Vice Mayor Dion Bailey

Vice Mayor Dion Bailey was elected to the Hercules City Council in November 2018.  He served as the Mayor in 2022.  He is the Chair of the Traffic and Public Safety Subcommittee and the Chair of the Economic Development Subcommittee.  Vice Mayor Bailey represents the City as the Vice-Chair of the West Contra Costa Transit Authority (WestCAT) and as an alternate on the West Contra Costa Transportation Advisory Committee (WCCTAC).  He is also a member of the Contra Costa Mayor’s Conference.  Prior to joining the Council, Dion was the Chair of the Hercules Planning Commission where he served for 5 years.  

Vice Mayor Bailey believes Hercules can be one the best Cities in California and he is committed to continuing our city’s path toward financial sustainability.  

Professionally, Dion has 20 years of experience working in local government.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Science from Embry-Riddle University and earned a Master in Business Administration from John F. Kennedy University.  Vice Mayor Bailey has resided in Hercules since 1993.
