Trunk or Treat

The Hercules Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the 2023 Trunk or Treat event at the Community Swim Center on Friday, October 27, beginning at 6pm.  Trunk or Treat is an alternative to traditional Halloween Trick or Treat activities. This year will be our 5th annual TRUNK OR TREAT EVENT.  2023 Trunk or Treat Flyer

Trunk or Treat is a FREE, FUN, and SAFE event for families to spend a little Halloween time together!  Car/Trunk participants decorate their vehicles and fill their trunks with candy, while children in costumes (along with their families) will stroll from car to car looking at all the decorated vehicles and collecting candy.  Prizes will be awarded to the the best decorated Trunks, including, the following categories: CASPER-esque (friendly/fun/sweet/light-hearted; inspired and approved by the Friendly Ghost), SPOOK-Tacular (scary/spooky; more like Casper’s brothers) and the Fab-BOO-lous award (unique, creative, magical…outside the norm).  

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

  1. REGISTER YOUR VEHICLE:  To register, click on the 2023 Trunk or Treat FLYER link, complete the form and submit to the Hercules Parks & Recreation Department. All Entries MUST…
    • arrive at Community Swim Center between 4:30 & 5:00pm, Friday, 10/27/23; be ready time is 6:00pm.
    • provide own pre-packaged candy and/or treats; we anticipate approximately 1,200 kids.
    • pre-register with the Hercules Parks and Recreation Department.
    • stay until the end of the event for safety purposes.
    • trunk inspections will take place before the event begins. No glitter or confetti allowed.
      • any/all photos taken may be used by the Hercules Parks & Rec Department for promotional purposes. 
  2. DONATE CANDY:  To donate candy please contact the Hercules Parks and Recreation Department at (510) 441-4FUN (4386). 

The parking lot is designed to flow in one direction.  It will allow for everyone to walk through and visit every car.  We ask everyone to go through one time, see all the decorated cars, cast your votes (see info below), then exit the event for the next family to go through.
