A free event open in partnership with the City of Hercules, City of Pinole, RecycleMore, West County Resource Recovery & Republic Services. All participants must remain in the vehicle at all times. All materials must be placed in the trunk or the rear most portion of the vehicle. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in refusal of service.
Open to West County residents of:
El Sobrante, Hercules, Pinole, Richmond, San Pablo, El Cerrito & unincorporated West County (Kensington residents are not eligible).
**Bring proof of residency**
- No garbage, no trash, no trailers, no scrap metal, no tires
- No furniture or air mattresses
- No business waste, no construction and demolition waste
- No explosives, ammunition, medical waste, pharmaceuticals, sharps or radioactive waste, gas tanks or gas cylinders
- No appliances including refrigerators, stoves, washers/dryers, vacuums, toasters, coffeemakers
- No TV's in consoles or TV's over 36" (flatscreens are accepted)
- No hazardous construction debris (asbestos, pressure treated wood waste, contaminated soil, etc)
- No electric vehicle batteries
Accepted Items:
- Electronic waste with circuit boards (including microwaves, computers, TVs & cell phones)
- Auto products (antifreeze, gasoline, batteries, used motor oil & filters)
- Propane gas cylinders, hazardous aerosols/cleaners/sprays & poisons
- Paints, solvents, thinners and adhesives
- Household batteries, fluorescent lights, mercury thermometers and switches
- Garden products (pesticides and fertilizers)
- Pool & photo chemicals
- Mattresses and box springs (maximum of 3 items; no excessively wet or damaged mattress; no furniture)
- State regulations limit the transportation of HHW to 15 gallons or 125 pounds per vehicle per visit. Individual containers are limited to a 5 gallon capacity.
